Cameron Smith Memorial Fund Nominated For Award

We're honoured to advise that the Cameron Smith Memorial Fund has been nominated in the Community Support-Non Profit Organization of the Year [KANATA] category, for the 2010 Kanata Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

As a registered non-profit organization, the Cameron Smith Memorial Fund has been raising monies since 2005 to assist disadvantaged bantam aged youth play minor hockey through the KMHA and KGHA, in Cameron's name.

The 2010 Cameron Smith Friendship Tournament is the final year of the tournament as it would have been Cameron's last year in minor hockey. This year's tournament will consist of 32 teams from Ontario & Quebec - our largest ever tournament. Our sincerest thanks to the entire Kanata community for the wonderful show of support it has extended to everyone involved in this initiative over the course of the tournament.

You don't need to be a Kanata resident to vote. Please take a moment to cast your vote for any of the award nominess you feel are deserving of their nomination at: http://www.kanatachamber.com/awards. Please also distribute this email to your friends and family.

Karaoke Night - Friday, February 5th
Jack Charron (Kanata Sports Club)
On Friday, February 5th from 8:00pm-1:00am we will be holding our third annual Karaoke Night at the Kanata Sports Club, located above the Jack Charron Arena. Bring your best singing voice. Admission at the door is a requested $10.00/person donation to the Cameron Smith Memorial Fund.  Note: must be 19 years of age or older to attend.

Cameron Smith Pancake Breakfast  - hosted by Kanata's Volunteer Firefighters
Jack Charron (Kanata Sports Club), Saturday, February 6th
Kanata 's Volunteer Firefighters return for their third year to host our annual Cameron Smith Pancake Breakfast. Breakfast will be served from 8:00-11:00am, Saturday February 6th in the Kanata Sports Club above the Jack Charron Arena. The pancake breakfast, served with bacon and includes juice/coffee. Price is $4.00/adult per person. 

Cameron Smith Bake Sale
Kanata Recreation Centre (KRC), Saturday, February 6th
The Cameron Smith Memorial Fund and Capital City Condors will be co-hosting a baked goods sale on Saturday, February 6th from 9:00am-5:00pm. Cameron Smith Chilli Challenge
Kanata Recreation Centre (KRC), Saturday, February 6th

Join Us at the Kanata Recreation Centre (KRC) on Saturday February 6th from 11:00am - 1:00pm as home chefs and Cordon Bleu chefs compete for the top prize in the Cameron Smith Chilli Challenge. Price is $2.00/4 tastings.

Capital City Condors - "Ice Hockey for Special Kids with Special Needs"
Jack Charron Arena, Sunday February 7th

The Capital City Condors will display their special skills on Sunday, February 7th at 12:00pm at the Jack Charron Arena.   Come out and cheer on this wonderful group of young hockey players. Cameron Smith Friendship Game - Our Final Tribute
Jack Charron Arena, Sunday February 7th
The 2010 Cameron Smith Friendship Game will be held on Sunday, February 7th at 1:00pm at the Jack Charron Arena, which is being attended by Cameron 's parents and local dignitaries. 

Note: There is no admission charge at the door for the Cameron Smith Friendship Game – as this is the final year of the Cameron Smith Friendship Tournament, we’d really appreciate everyone's attendance as a show of support for the Smith Family while they cheer on a bunch of great kids who are having fun playing community hockey, in Cameron's name.
